I wish they taught money in high school

I wish they taught money in High School

I am very happy to receive this book for  review. It is very timely as I make my way in developing my financial IQ. I could proudly say that I am good at so many things, but I am not good with my finances and I am playing it safe.

This book has two sections: (1) I wish they taught money in High School so I’m not dependent on my paycheck; (2) I wish they taught money in High School so I can start my business right away.

Let’s talk about  the first section which was written by Ms. Clarissa Seriña De La Paz.

The book first explained basic accounting jargon so it is easier understood by someone like me (a broadcasting major). She briefly explains the right formula to have extra income or passive income (a money earned from sitting pretty).

Most part of the book was from Robert Kiyosaki’s best-selling books. She also explained some myths about money and busted them out.

She also showed samples on how your salary loan could earn. Imagine a yearly renewal of salary loan could earn so much by investing in the right stocks or bonds.

At the end of her section she illustrated navigational tools to help readers start their own journey and become rich.

The second section of the book was written by Ms. Sharon Que.

She then explored the ideas of having a business. It could be something you will own or franchise.

She also illustrated samples of her own real estate business. And then emphasizing in making your goals clear and giving your 100% in each action.

She has hits of investing too, where your money can work for you.

In the end she showed a sample or letter of intent if we wish to start buying foreclosure properties out there.

Overall, I liked the book because of its simplicity, the illustration too is very friendly. It is like I am just talking to a close friend. This book gave easy jump starters, if you want to makeover the financial aspect of your life.

This is also a good reference book of what you can read to enhance your knowledge and interest in investing and business. You may want to read the actual books of Kiyosaki and Maxwell to learn more. You may also join seminars on investment or other ways of passive income.

Most importantly, this book strengthens my belief in knowledge and gratitude. We could all be rich if we will use our minds and God given talents. Extensive research won’t hurt and thus book showed the adventure of two brave women who will run the world.

If they can do it, of course we can too.

I am happy that with this book I can see myself on the right track.

I definitely recommend this book for people out there who are playing it safe. As Mr. Kiyosaki says we all have little chicken inside us, maybe it is time for us to fry it and sell (or eat) it.

Any suggestions for 2014?

Life Update: Choco Mint Muffin, Cloud Migration, Ghost Writing, and Real Job

22 Nov

I received an email from my hosting provider saying that they will migrate into a cloud platform and advised to refrain from updating my site.

So I will not be able to post to my beauty blog and I am here.

Just to update I am one month behind regarding the event’s preparation on March maybe the change in management and the previous event affected it.

As for my other job, I accepted numerous number of ghost writing jobs as I do not have a qualified blog to accept paid tasks. Blogging has really become mainstream in the Philippines. My PayPal account shows positive balance and I have bought new makeups out of it.

I do not see anything bad about Ghost Writing simply because I understand how busy a blogger can be and who wants to let go of tasks right? Some bloggers do not receive those task like me. Writing for them makes me feel that the task was also assign to me. Besides I can practice my writing skills, writing with different topics, restrictions, and deadline.

I am happy with the result of my beauty blog. I feel that I made the right decision of doing it because I’ve been into beauty since high school. It’s something that I do not have to force myself just to keep it updated. It’s not always about the ranking, it’s about new discoveries and experiences you encounter.

I become a more positive and friendly person because of it. I met new people and receive perks. (Visit: www.dishysammy.com)

My online store is doing good also knowing that I do not update it that much. I am impressed because I still have customers. I think I should allot enough time for that. (Search: Sammy Sari Store on Facebook)

Right now I am reading Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks.

I received this book from a colleague – birthday gift.

I also bought other books to read from book sale – The Beck Diet, The Hex Appeal, 10 minutes 10 years, and Lover’s Yoga, all self help books.

I hope I could start getting fit and healthy.

Reading helps me speak and write more fluent and spontaneous. It exercise my brain cells too and I am learning a lot of things.

Moreover, I am lacking sleep simply because I am waking up early and sleeping late at night. Our new house is just really far from my work place I have no social life but I love the place.

I am still adjusting and still striving. I am going with the flow, I hope the forces above is guiding me because I really want to pursue this journey I am currently taking.

I hope to make the right decisions.

So much of a personal post here. I should not have change it into a food blog. hahaha

Oh well I should finish my muffin.

I am terribly sleepy.

Read the book first then watch the movie or vice versa? : The Lucky One a novel by Nicholas Sparks

21 Apr

I got the book from a colleague last Christmas when I shouted that I want a new book. I finished reading it last January 2. I soon heard the news that it’s coming in theaters in April (April 19 to be exact) I was so excited to see the movie because I want to compare whether it will be the same as it is in the book.

Last April 17 friends from Powerbundles (Creative Programs, Inc.) gave a premiere night pass. Woohooo courtesy of Lifestyle Network.

Starring Zac Efron (Logan Thighbault) and Taylor Schilling (Beth Green); of course the movie didn’t started like the book did. The visuals made it more understandable. The flash backs were clear and the whole story was easy to follow.

The movie is about a photo found in the desert after a war in Iraq and Logan thought that Beth is his lucky charm, he should find Beth and thank her.

I am quite confuse now because I don’t know if I’d liked it or not. I like the whole story though.

Is it because I read the book that is why I understood it? I have anticipated every scene.

The ending was twisted (sorry if I am going to spoil some clips). Zeus (the dog) did find Ben not Keith. Haha

It was a feel good movie after all. I do not want to go on details about the movie because some of you might have not seen it yet.

A lot of books were made movie after being a best seller.

So I am leaving you guys a question…

Do you prefer reading the book first then watch the movie or vice versa?
