MANILA, Philippines – These days’ thoughts and tweets are almost one and the same. We just can’t help but share what we’re thinking to the world. It’s like our minds have gone digital and invaded the social networking scene. And with the rising popularity of Foursquare and other location-tracking apps, your location is just as accessible as your tweets. Today, broadcasting one’s whereabouts has just been more than just a habit, but a social statement.

With that in mind, where you are matters! Where you dine. Where you shop. Where you unwind. Let everyone know where you are. Let them know that you’re @ IL Terrazzo!

Stalking a recipe inside my mouth

My title sounds weird.

Well, I ate a pasta dish last Saturday during the event (post here) and I want to try it home.

Penne

According to my taste buds the ingredients were:

  1. Spicy Tuna
  2. Celery
  3. Orange Zest
  4. Garlic
  5. Dried Rosemary
  6. Olive Oil
  7. Salt & Pepper

I was scrutinizing this dish as I identify the ingredients one by one. And my friend Wilx told me “Do you cook?” I said yes. haha

I like how I can identify the flavors to the food I eat. It’s easier to do a version at home.

Although I am not much into Penne, I will redo this dish because it’s delicious.

Hope my family will like it too.

I will post a follow up article once I have tried this at home.

Would you know what pasta dish is this? I have no idea.

By the way, there’s a storm happening in the country so I hope everyone is safe & dry.

Ciao,

Sammy

Native Filipino Snack: Palitaw

Palitaw

Before I totally consumed this delicious snack my colleague Jen gave me. I believe I should share it.

This is called Palitaw because of the way it was cooked. It is made from rice flour tossed in boiling water, when ready it just floats.

Litaw means pop out / occurrence and Pa  is a prefix to indicate the manner. Enough explaining let’s move on to the ingredients. Open-mouthed smile

  • Rice Flour (malagkit)
  • Sesame Seeds (Linga)
  • Sugar
  • Grated Coconut (Niyog)

To cook it,

  • Prepare rice flour by add water until the right consistency is achieved.
  • Get a spoonful and make circle on your palm and then pressed it.
  • Set aside
  • Boil water
  • While waiting for the water to boil, toast sesame seeds.
  • Add the palitaw in the boiling water. Wait until they float one by one.
  • Drain
  • Roll it over the coconut husk
  • Sprinkle sugar and sesame seeds

I am hoping that I used the right terms and you can follow. Hot smile Palitaw is my favorite native snack. Let’s talk about Suman (Rice Cake) some time.

Sweet Tooth Snack

Hello everyone,

I am munching on a cake right now and I am very bad to pass my cravings to you. Just kidding

IMAG0966

It is a Mocha Vanilla cake roll from Goldilocks – local pastry and food establishment in the Philippines.

I like Goldilocks because their cakes are not super sweet, you can taste the flavor you bought.

I am thinking if I should get my second cup of coffee now. hmmm

I am thinking of a blogging 101 post again? Or android apps perhaps? Let me know what you want to read by commenting below.

Let’s have a drinking session! by Marga Lagoiting

Let’s have a drinking session!

This is my second time to use PRESS THIS button but Marga got my attention.  I am not a beer drinker but I guess coffee really describes my personality.

Marga and Channa is dominating my brain now about what to do next? And no matter how much I want to do something now. I do not know why I can’t walk my right foot forward for just one step.

It is as if I am imprison with my elder’s (PARENTS) belief of what I should do. I thought I know what I want and I can do it at my own time but unfortunately, I still can’t.

My count down to 30 months is really out of sight. I am not a freak for that thing and I swear I never did write anything about the details but I just want it to happen soonest time I am capable of.

Channa told me that vision will remain a vision until you make your move to make it come true.
I am sure they know what I am talking about. haha

Forgive my dramatic post readers quarter life is indeed true. I will be back later after my meeting (we might eat somewhere else).

It is event organizing time for me again.

See you later,

Sammy
